The Role
The Multnomah Athletic Club is seeking a Weekend Youth Programs Attendant to join our Youth Programs Department. The Youth Programs Attendant is responsible for providing a safe, high-quality care for infants and children within the Child Care facility. We are looking for staff who are available to work Saturdays 8:30 - 4:30 p.m. (at minimum). This attendant will work in our drop-in daycare facility with children 6 weeks to 6 years old. This is a part-time, year-round, position with the potential to gain more hours depending on your availability outside of the day/hours listed above.

What You'll Do

Interact positively with all staff, parents, children, and guests. Maintain an upbeat and friendly behavior.
- Greet parents and children upon arrival and departure. Update records of the children as needed.
- Help parent and child as needed to separate in a manner that reduces anxiety and eases the child’s transition into our care.
- Maintain positive behavior among children; correct misbehavior through redirection or moving the child to a safe, quiet area.
- Conduct activities with children including games, art or craft projects, storytelling, imaginary play; monitor individual and group play.
- Tend to children’s toileting, diapering, and hygiene needs as needed, following department procedures.
What You'll Do
- Experience with children infant - 6 years old is preferred but not required.
- First Aid/ CPR certified and Recognizing & Reporting Child Abuse Neglect training (or become certified within 90 days of hire)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to interact effectively with a variety of people under a variety of circumstances.
- Ability and skill to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees and members.
- Excellent customer service skills are a necessity.
