This is a part-time, fully on-site role at our club in Portland, OR. Candidates must be available Monday-Friday, 8:00am – 1:00pm.

What You’ll Do
- Classroom Support: Assist with classes for children ages 2 years old and ensure a safe, clean, and welcoming environment.
- Child Supervision: Provide direct supervision and engage with children in a positive, caring manner while following safety regulations and using appropriate behavior management techniques.
- Activity Preparation: Help prepare and organize activities that promote developmental growth, ensuring each child’s individual needs are met.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of attendance and monitor children’s progress, reporting any concerns about behavioral or developmental issues to the Lead Teacher.
- Collaboration: Work closely with the Lead Teacher and other staff members to maintain a positive, cooperative, and team-oriented environment.
- Communication: Foster open communication with parents and guardians, providing updates and insights on their child’s progress and experiences.
- Professional Development: Participate in required training and continuing education, including attending staff meetings and completing 16 hours of professional development each year.
- Adherence to Policies: Follow all club policies, departmental procedures, and safety guidelines to ensure a positive and secure environment for all children.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Education & Experience: An Associate’s degree in Early Childhood Education or at least one year of classroom experience in a preschool program is preferred.
- Certifications: CPR, First Aid, and Recognizing and Reporting Child Abuse and Neglect training (or willingness to become certified within 90 days of hire).
- Childcare Competence: Ability to provide a warm and nurturing environment, showing sound judgment and self-control when working with children and parents.
- Interpersonal Skills: Strong communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to work cooperatively with both colleagues and parents.
- Physical Ability: Must be able to lift and carry children weighing up to 50 lbs. and perform physical tasks associated with working in a classroom setting.
- Positive Attitude: Enthusiasm for working with children and a passion for fostering their development in a supportive, engaging environment.
