The Cold Heading Operator is responsible for accurately setting up and running parts within print specifications. This role assists and supports the engineering team on part development, tests tool designs, and operates both single die and multi-die headers. Operators are accountable for not only the quantity demands for production, but also quality, efficiency, and safety.

Key Responsibilities

• Set-up and operate a wide range of small or large diameter headers: Single die, Multi-Die and Progressive Headers
• Test tool designs and report back to Engineering Manager with performance results and with recommendations for improving designs.
• Produce quality parts to print and specifications
• Follow all procedures and work instructions.
• Inspect parts and maintain quality records per company procedures
• Teach and educate helpers or trainees
• Keep machines and work area clean.
• Perform minor maintenance on machines
• Follow safety rules and report unsafe conditions.
• Perform other miscellaneous duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience setting up and running cold heading machines
• Minimum 5 years making and modifying cold heading tooling per print specifications
• Proficient in machine tools such as lathe, mill, grinder and hydraulic press
• Ability to use hand tools and equipment
• Ability to read and understand blueprints and GD&T
• Ability to operate micrometers, calipers, and special gauges
• Strong troubleshooting skills
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to [insert weight, e.g., 50 lbs].
• Manual dexterity and visual acuity for precision work.
• Exposure to shop environment with machinery, noise, and metalworking fluids.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $25.00 - $32.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 – 60 per week
