We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Mechanical Insulation Mechanic to join our dynamic construction team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining insulation systems on various mechanical equipment and piping within commercial and industrial settings. Duties
- Measure, cut, assemble, and install insulation materials on pipes, ducts, tanks, and mechanical systems according to blueprints and technical specifications
- Interpret schematics, technical drawings, and blueprints to accurately follow installation plans
- Use hand tools such as knives, saws, trowels, and caulking guns safely and effectively during insulation work
- Operate power tools including drills, saws, and airless paint sprayers with strict adherence to safety protocols
- Climb ladders and scaffolding safely to reach elevated work areas while maintaining balance and stability
- Follow safety procedures diligently to prevent accidents on construction sites and ensure compliance with OSHA standards
- Collaborate with project managers, contractors, and clients to communicate progress and address any technical or logistical issues promptly
Skills
- Strong mechanical knowledge related to insulation materials and installation techniques
- Experience with construction estimating for labor and material needs
- Proficiency in reading blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings for precise installation guidance
- Skilled in using hand tools and power tools safely in a construction environment
- Knowledge of building insulation types such as foam, fiberglass, mineral wool, or spray foam insulation
- Ability to interpret technical specifications related to HVAC systems, metal stud framing, roofing, plastering, stucco, caulking, trim carpentry, masonry, concrete finishing, masonry work, airless paint spraying, fabrication, carpentry skills including framing carpentry
- Climbing ability for working at heights on ladders or scaffolding safely
- Familiarity with construction site safety protocols including PPE use and hazard awareness
- Basic math skills for measurements and calculations during installation tasks
- Effective client communication skills for coordinating work progress or addressing client inquiries
