While traditional approaches are time-consuming and lead to extremely high costs for patients (typically $1M per patient), using robotics can make these transformative treatments more accessible and affordable to patients in need. To learn more and to view a video of our robots in action, visit us at www.multiplylabs.com and follow us on LinkedIn.Position OverviewWe are seeking an innovative, highly motivated Chief Manufacturing & Supply Chain Officer to architect and scale the global supply chain for Multiply Labs’ robotic cell-therapy manufacturing platform – including both capital equipment and the consumable kits. Reporting to the CEO, you will lead supplier strategy, influence COGS and pricing, and ensure the reliability and scalability needed for commercial success. This role spans early supplier engagement through post-sale field support and will be foundational in bringing our technology from prototype to scaled commercial production.Responsibilities: Supply Chain Strategy & LeadershipDevelop and execute Multiply Labs’ supply chain strategy across robots, consumables, and field-replaceable units, ensuring scalability from first-customer deployments through global commercialization.Act as the company’s executive supply chain leader, providing regular updates to the CEO and Board while guiding long-term supply chain strategy. Build and manage a network of domestic and international suppliers (US, EU, and APAC) aligned with our quality, cost, and capacity requirements.Foster strong relationships with supply chain and procurement teams at large customer accounts, including executive level stakeholders.Responsibilities: Supplier Management & ProcurementLead supplier management activities ensuring quality, cost, timeline, and scalability requirements.Oversee supplier audits in partnership with Quality and Regulatory to ensure compliance with ISO 9001 and other applicable regulations. Lead supplier negotiations on pricing, warranties, and terms and manage supplier agreements. Drive supplier selection processes and collaborate to develop projections for each supplier. Responsibilities: Design Transfer & Production ReadinessWork cross-functionally with Engineering to manage timely design transfer from R&D to production—including documentation, specifications, manufacturability, test strategy, and acceptance criteria.Facilitate supplier input to engineering teams to ensure DFM, DFA, and cost targets during early design phases.Collaborate with engineering leadership to develop build processes and manufacturing workflows.Responsibilities: Pricing & COGsPartner with Finance, Product, and Leadership on pricing strategies.Own system-level COGS and consumable COGS targets; Develop plans to continuously improve margins.Responsibilities: Service, Field Support, & Spare PartsDevelop and manage the strategy for robot installation, service, field support, maintenance workflows, and spare-parts. Build and oversee the Service organization.Own robotic system warranty and service strategy for COTS and non-COTS parts, and negotiate warranty terms for integrated COTS parts. Responsibilities: Supply Chain Systems & InfrastructureImplement and manage supply chain systems (e.g., ERP/MRP, purchasing workflows, inventory management).Establish processes for forecasting, inventory control, capacity planning, and demand management.QualificationsBachelor’s in Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field10 years of supply chain leadership experience in medical devices, robotics, aerospace, automotive, or similarly regulated, complex electromechanical industries.Proven experience taking hardware systems from prototype to scaled manufacturing (e.g. 100-1,000 units/year), ideally with a BOM of 500-3,000 parts and a mix of COTS and custom parts from many sources. Deep experience with design transfer, manufacturing readiness, and production ramp-ups. Demonstrated ability to build and lead teams responsible for procurement, planning, production operations, and/or service/support. Strong understanding of supplier quality management and regulatory frameworks (e.g. ISO 13485, ISO 9001) Experience implementing and scaling ERP/MRP systems in fast-growing organizationsHands-on fluency in DFM/DFA principlesStrong financial acumen, including cost modeling, scenario analysis, and budgeting Demonstrated experience scaling supply chains from scratch, including supplier capability evaluation, and owning the first-time commercialization of new productsExcellent project management, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skillsData-driven mindset with the ability to track, analyze, and act on operational metricsTravelNote: While our headquarters is located in San Francisco, CA, this position will require up to 20-25% domestic and international travel.Benefits401K with 4% company match Health InsuranceDental InsuranceVision InsuranceLife InsurancePartial Health Insurance for Child Dependents HSA or FSA Twice weekly catered lunch (for team members in SF office) Pre-tax Commuter Benefit10 Paid HolidaysFlexible PTOPaid Parental Leave Multiply Labs will review the benefit offerings periodically and the benefit options are subject to change to meet employee and business needs.Multiply Labs is an early-stage startup where equity is a major part of the compensation package. Our job titles may span multiple career levels.
