What are the responsibilities and job description for the Business Development Director of Ecosystem Growth position at Multiple?
Job Summary
We operate a high-growth, multi-faceted ecosystem spanning executive healthcare consulting, specialized legal regulatory advisory, and wellness industry trade associations. We are seeking a dynamic, highly articulate, and intrinsically motivated Ecosystem Growth & Business Development Director to drive top-of-funnel attraction, relationship marketing, and cross-enterprise account routing.
In this role, you will act as the relational client and member bridge across our integrated ventures: converted law firm prospects, trade association memberships, clinical certification programs, digital platform hubs, and health brands.
Note: This is a non-attorney position. Legal services and legal advice are strictly delivered by authorized legal counsel; your role is strategic relationship development, account mapping, pipeline management, and lead triage.
1. Relationship Marketing & Prospect Engagement
- Act as the initial point of contact and primary relationship builder for incoming inquiries across all portfolio brands.
- Build trust with healthcare executives, IV therapy practice owners, integrative wellness clinicians, equine/veterinary practitioners, and corporate partners through consultative, educational-first engagement.
- Represent the ecosystem at regional micro-events, industry symposiums, and virtual summits, conveying organizational authority without relying on aggressive tactics.
2. Legal & Advisory Lead Intake (Non-Attorney Role)
- Screen incoming prospects seeking healthcare regulatory, corporate structure, compliance, and risk management advisory.
- Qualify practice scale, compliance needs, and service readiness before routing high-intent prospects directly to legal counsel and executive advisors.
- Maintain strict operational boundaries between sales/relationship management and legal representation.
3. Association Membership & Ecosystem Slotting
- Deeply understand the tiered membership structures, clinical certification tracks, vendor storefront hubs, and educational programs within our trade associations.
- Perform preliminary diagnostic intake on every new lead to identify immediate pain points and seamlessly slot each opportunity into the optimal ecosystem channel:
- Legal Advisory: Regulatory, entity structure, state board compliance, 503A/503B sourcing.
- Association Memberships: Practice growth resources, clinical protocols, group purchasing, directory listings.
- Educational/Certifications: Virtual training series, staff certifications, compliance toolkits.
- Veterinary & Biologics: Specialty veterinary, equine recovery, and regenerative health solutions.
- Sponsorships & Strategic Partnerships: Vendor storefront listings, regional event sponsorships, media partnerships.
4. Full Lifecycle Account & Pipeline Management
- Own the central CRM and lead routing system, ensuring no lead falls through the cracks and every prospect receives timely follow-up.
- Track conversion metrics across portfolio channels and provide weekly scorecard updates on lead velocity, pipeline value, and tier placement.
- Nurture existing accounts to identify expansion, cross-sell, and renewal opportunities across the ecosystem.
Qualifications & Attributes
- Proven Track Record: 4–7 years of executive sales, business development, or high-touch relationship marketing experience in healthcare, legal services, wellness, or B2B professional services.
- Master of Lead Routing: Exceptional ability to map complex, multi-entity product/service lines and instantly identify where a prospect fits within a broader ecosystem.
- Sophisticated Communicator: Executive-level verbal and written communication skills; comfortable speaking with attorneys, practice owners, clinical directors, and corporate vendors.
- Consultative & Regulatory Sensitive: Ability to sell based on value, clinical credibility, and educational authority rather than transactional pitch decks.
- CRM & Process Discipline: Rigorous approach to pipeline management, data hygiene, and scorecard reporting.
- Adaptable & High-Energy: Thrives in a fast-paced environment managing distinct, fast-growing brands simultaneously.
What Success Looks Like in Year 1
- Zero Lost Leads: A centralized, predictable triage system where every lead is cataloged, qualified, and assigned within 24 hours.
- Increased Cross-Pollination: High conversion of single-service leads into multi-entity participation (e.g., converting an association member into a legal consultation or vendor partner).
- Expanded Nationwide Footprint: Measurable growth in association tier upgrades, event registrations, and partner ecosystem revenue share.
This position spans both licensed legal regulatory services and non-legal enterprise ventures (trade associations, educational programs, and animal health products). In strict compliance with legal ethics and fee-splitting rules, legal representation and advisory are delivered exclusively by authorized legal counsel. Your compensation for legal intake is structured around qualified hand-off milestones and operational SLAs, while non-legal enterprise lines carry direct performance commission and ecosystem cross-sell incentives. We offer a highly competitive hybrid compensation plan designed to reward strategic lead-shaping, fast lead triage, and total ecosystem revenue growth.
We can't wait to speak with you!
