Cedar Springs Public Schools is in need of an elementary Behavior Interventionists starting with the 2026-2027 school year. The assignments are at Beach, and Cedar View Elementary. We are excited to engage with quality candidates that are friendly, organized, self-motivated problem solvers and enjoy working in a team environment meeting the individual needs of students through our MTSS structure.
Overview: The Behavior Interventionist will collaborate with building administration, teaching and support staff to provide support to students, first seeking to de-escalate any conflict through the use to strategies from CPI, PBIS and other research developed and approved techniques. The Interventionist will use data in a team approach to determine the best plans for individual students as part of a team approach.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Valid Michigan teaching certificate preferred - but not required
- Minimum qualification:
- Earned 60 semester credit hours from an institution of higher education, or
- Earned an Associate’s degree or higher, or
- Successfully complete an approved formal assessment
- Restorative Practice training preferred - but not required
- CPI training preferred - but not required
- Trauma-informed training, preferred - but not required
- Understanding of behavioral characteristics associated with behavior disorders
- Experience with providing guidance, motivating, and/or mentoring students required
- Experience and knowledge of quality instruction and classroom management
- Establishes positive relationships with students, parents, and school personnel
- Ability to communicate well at various levels with students, parents, and school personnel
- Evidence of a positive attitude and human relation skills
- Evidence of high standards of ethics, honesty, and integrity in personal and professional matters
- High level of flexibility
- Strong work ethic
REPORTS TO: Building Principal
START DATE: 8/24/2026
SCHEDULE: Approximately 6.75 hours per day as determined by the building principal
SALARY RANGE:
Certified ($24.06-26.30)
Non-certified ($22.41-24.47)
WORK SCHEDULE: 6.75 hours/day (School Calendar)
