Summary

The primary function will be the coordination of our incoming freight. Verify and ensure the accuracy of all Multimatic and supplier owned returnable containers (totes, racks, pallets, lids and bins, etc).

EDUCATION And/or EXPERIENCE
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos in English. Ability to write effective correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations. Effectively represent the company professionally to customers, clients, suppliers, truck drivers and other employees of the organization.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to add and subtract three digit numbers and multiply and divide. Ability to use the aforementioned skills using units of US dollars, weight measurement, volume and distance. Ability to use micrometers and dial calipers.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written instructions. Ability to deal with problems in standardized situations.

Responsibilities
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Data accuracy
- Adherence to tight receiving window times & customer requirements
- Work with our suppliers, vendors, carriers and materials analyst to enhance freight utilization
- Must have an understanding of our FIFO system and how it affects our supply chain
- Insure that all purchased components are labelled and legible for inventory accuracy
- Monitor Multimatic New Haven and supplier owned returnable containers as well as Multimatic expendable containers to minimize shipping costs
- Must obtain a forklift license and able to operate safely and effectively
- High forklift skill level. Must be able to drive and load in confined spaces such trailers, narrow aisle ways, receiving docks, etc.
- Able to effectively utilize receiving and/or inventory software:
- Unload/load, scan, and receive all incoming freight
- Prepare shipping documents (i.e.; BOLs, shippers, load sheets, etc.)
- Utilize the Vendor Delivery Report to verify Part #’s and Quantities received
- Send ASNs to suppliers within customer’s acceptable time window
- Process materials-received paperwork according to procedures
- Backup to the Shipping Coordinator
- Able to work overtime (Daily & Weekend)
- Other related duties as assigned
- Shipping supervisor: provides direct supervision, assigns task, provide advise, guidance, training and instruction. Receiving coordinator will provide the shipping supervisor with full details on all functions.
- Materials analyst: will work closely with the materials analyst to ensure the proper flow of purchased parts
- Carriers and Transportation Company: receiving coordinator will maintain constant contact with dispatch and drivers to ensure all pickup, drop trailer and scheduled deliveries are done on time.
- Interact and communicate daily with other shift’s employees, supervisors and management to ensure that all shipping requirements are met.

EDUCATION And/or EXPERIENCE
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- Strong computer skills with Windows Office Suite, including proficiency in Word & Excel
- SAP experience is a plus
- Traffic and logistics experience
- Must speak, read and write fluent English
- Self-motivated and self-directed is a must as this position will have limited supervision
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- 2-4 years’ experience in shipping and/or receiving processes & procedures
