Shipping Traffic Clerk / Forklift Operator (1st Shift) (33909)

The Shipping Traffic Clerk is responsible for all routing of LTL and small parcel every day. This position’s hours are 8:30 am – 5:00 pm, with 30 minutes for lunch, although overtime may be required. The role of the Traffic Clerk is to be independent at one of our facilities and handle all shipping department duties.

Key Job Responsibilities:

• Route/process all small parcel and freight for location
• Create BOL’s (bills of lading) for shipments
• Process labels/shipments for FedEx Ship Manager and UPS WorldShip
• Prepare and print packing slips for shipments
• Make sure all orders are ready for invoicing by the time you leave each day
• Maintain a current knowledge of LTL company and customer routing
• Load/unload freight into semi-trucks daily
• Make sure all trucks that did not show up are called in for the next-day pickup
• Work with other departments to consolidate orders when needed
• Correct all mistakes that occur with shipments
• Supply all custom paperwork with all international shipments
• Keep Customer Service Reps (CSRs) up to date on shipments that were missed, held back, or otherwise encountered issues
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Previous shipping experience
• Able to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently
• High school degree or equivalent
• Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, and Excel)
• Must have knowledge of UPS WorldShip and FedEx Ship Manager
• Must know how to route LTL and Truckload
• Knowledge of international shipments and processes/paperwork
• 3PL experience preferred, but not required

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to lift up to 80 lbs.
• Must be able to drive a forklift and load trucks

Work Environment:

• Working in an office
• Working on a shipping dock
• Ability to work in a 55 – 85-degree Fahrenheit work environment.
