Position Overview

Multilink is seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Engineer – Analog & Power Electronics to lead the design, development, testing, troubleshooting, and support of electrical and electronic products used in Cable Television, Broadband/Fiber, and ITS/Traffic applications.

This is a hands-on engineering role for someone who enjoys working directly with circuits, schematics, printed circuit boards, power supplies/UPS, prototypes, test equipment, and production hardware. The position will provide senior-level technical leadership while remaining actively involved in design and problem solving.

The ideal candidate has strong experience in analog electronics, power electronics, electronic hardware design, circuit development, PCB design, component selection, product testing, and component-level troubleshooting.

This role is intended for an experienced technical engineer rather than a traditional people manager.

The underlying engineering work is drawn from the existing roles' responsibility for analog and digital circuit development, transformers, PCB design, testing, troubleshooting, technical support, and mentoring.

What You’ll Do

  • Apply advanced electrical engineering principles to analog, digital, power, and control circuitry.
  • You will design, develop, and improve designs of the following: Electrical schematics, printed circuit boards, wiring diagrams, power and control circuitry, transformers and magnetic components, functional electronic prototypes.
  • Develop and evaluate electrical designs using circuit simulation, schematic capture, PCB design, and all related engineering softwares.
  • Select electronic components based on electrical performance, reliability, availability, manufacturability, and cost.
  • Develop and support power supply and power-conversion products, including/focusing on uninterruptible power systems
  • Build, test, troubleshoot, and refine prototype electronic hardware.
  • Perform board-level and component-level troubleshooting of new and existing products.
  • Conduct failure analysis and root-cause investigations and recommend corrective design changes.
  • Perform design verification and qualification testing for electrical performance, reliability, electrical safety, thermal performance, EMC, and customer requirements.
  • Review and interpret electrical schematics, PCB fabrication files, supplier drawings, and engineering specifications.
  • Support the transition of new electrical designs from engineering into manufacturing
  • Assist Production and Quality with troubleshooting, test-bench setup, component selection, wiring diagrams, and product testing.
  • Work closely with Mechanical Engineering, Firmware Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Sales, suppliers, and customers as needed.
  • Support firmware or embedded control development when required.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation including schematics, BOMs, test specifications, engineering reports, theory-of-operation documentation, and product instructions.
  • Provide technical support and training to Production, Sales, Customer Service, Product Support, and customers.
  • Participate in customer and market discussions to understand technical requirements and evaluate new-product opportunities.
  • Provide technical direction on engineering projects and help coordinate project priorities, testing, milestones, and deliverables.
  • Mentor less-experienced engineers and technical staff.

The cross-functional support, testing, production transition, documentation, customer training, and supplier coordination portions are consistent with the existing Engineering Manager role.

What We’re Looking For

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or closely related engineering discipline preferred.
  • Approximately 8–10 years of relevant electrical/electronic or electrical power engineering experience, or an equivalent combination of education and directly related experience.
  • Demonstrated experience designing electronic circuits and hardware. This is not an ASIC/IC position.
  • Strong experience with analog electronics and/or power electronics.
  • Experience with LTSpice, PSpice, SIMPLIS, MATLAB/Simulink or similar tools.
  • Proficiency with at least one professional schematic-capture and PCB-layout environment such as ALtium Designer, Cadence, OrCAD/Allegro or equivalent.
  • Experience with power supplies, power conversion, DC/DC, AC/DC, switching power supplies, UPS systems, or related power products strongly preferred.
  • Experience developing electrical schematics and printed circuit boards.
  • Experience with component selection and application.
  • Strong experience with prototype development, board bring-up, testing, troubleshooting, and design verification.
  • Ability to troubleshoot electronic hardware to the component level.
  • Experience with circuit simulation, schematic capture, and PCB design/layout tools.
  • Experience using laboratory equipment such as: Oscilloscopes, Digital multimeters, Power analyzers, Programmable AC power sources, Related electronic test equipment
  • Strong analytical and root-cause problem-solving skills.
  • Strong technical documentation and communication skills.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with manufacturing, engineering, quality, suppliers, customers, and company leadership.
  • Experience mentoring junior engineers or serving as a technical lead preferred.

Preferred Additional Experience

  • Embedded electronics or microcontroller-based product development.
  • Firmware development or troubleshooting.
  • C, Python, Assembly, or similar programming languages.
  • EMI/EMC testing and troubleshooting.
  • Product certification and regulatory testing.
  • Transformer or magnetics design.
  • Experience supporting products from concept through production.
