RESIDENT COORDINATOR OKEMOS, MI (HYBRID)
Description:
Receives and responds to inquiries from Section 8 residents, Federal/State agencies or Congressional staff. Responsible for notifying owners/agents of all resident health, safety, maintenance and other general program-related concerns resulting from resident calls, letters, emails, etc. Resident Coordinators are responsible for drafting letters to residents, owners, and HUD, writing emails, and making entries into the in-house program management and applications database. Correspondence is subject to supervisor oversight for grammatical and technical accuracy. In addition, a Resident Coordinator will conduct tenant file audits to verify compliance with Federal and State requirements. Provide in-house support to the Manager of Resident Inquiries and assist in establishing positive relations and communications with residents and the community.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Respond to communications received from residents via the call center telephone line and from letters, emails, and through HUD/State agencies or Congressional staff.
- Assist residents by providing information and responding to questions.
- Notify property owners of resident's concerns within a specified timeframe and monitor the owner's corrective plans of actions and scheduled completion dates.

- Document all actions and meet deadlines in the in-house program management and applications database.
- Develop and maintain working knowledge of all Core tasks performed under the PBCA contract. Become familiar with HUD Handbooks, specifically 4350.3, 4350.1, and 4381.5

- Ability to maintain confidentiality of resident profiles, history, and/or personal information, as well as company proprietary information.

- Ability to work effectively when faced with frequent interruptions.
Ability to create professional, written communication and business documents.
Ability to complete work professionally, with attention to accuracy, thoroughness, technical knowledge, on time and with the skills necessary to efficiently and effectively complete assigned tasks.
Prioritize and plan work activities, use time efficiently and develop and communicate realistic action plans.
- Knowledge of English composition, spelling, punctuation, and mathematics.
Education or Professional Experience Qualifications:
High School Diploma/GED required. Associate's Degree in business, liberal arts, or other related subjects preferred.
Two years customer service and two years office experience.
- Experience in affordable housing or property management.
- Occupancy Specialist certification (COS, AMH or equivalent), strongly preferred.
