Job Summary
Professional, self-motivated, and quality-focused shipping and receiving personnel to work in a fast paced and structured warehouse environment. Receives, organizes, and ships materials into or out of warehouse using a variety of equipment and techniques. Maintains organization and cleanliness within the warehouse.
Duties and responsibilities
- Place and organize materials in their assigned locations
- Use of ERP system to print out purchase orders, receive purchase orders, and find product locations
- Maintain accuracy and attention to detail ensuring transfers/shipments are picked and shipped according to picking ticket specifications
- Serve as a backup to shipping assisting when necessary
- Process purchase order discrepancies according to policy
- Assists in pulling/verifying pre-pull orders
- Take ownership of branch, addressing any issues (cleanliness, stock, product labeling, etc.) regardless of whether it’s an assigned area
- Move material using warehouse equipment
- Commitment to safety and a hazard-free work environment
Qualifications
- Double-checks the accuracy of information and work product to provide accurate and consistent work
- Speaks clearly and can be easily understood
- Writes using concrete, specific wording while adhering to basic grammar rule
- Interpersonal skills: active listening, dependability, flexibility, and positive attitude.
- Computer skills: basic understanding of how to use the Windows operating system, including such tasks as locating and opening/closing files, installing/running programs, and shutting down the computer.
- Seeks out and/or accepts additional responsibilities in the context of the job
- Be a self-starter. Clearly understanding the needs of the branch concerning cleanliness, inventory, and stocking should leave little down time.
- Ability to lift carry up to up 50lbs.
- Ability to walk/stand/sit for long periods of time, bending, stooping and squatting
- Ability to reach, feel, grasp, grip, carry, push, and pull
- Ability to work in a warehouse environment Inside/Outside Conditions, Varied Temperature Changes, Minimal Chemical Hazards, Vibration, Dust, Vehicle Noise
- Must be a Team Player and Must be Coachable - (NO EXCEPTIONS)
- Able to follow instructions and supervision
- Previous warehouse experience
- Previous shipping/receiving experience
- Demonstrated job stability
- Valid driver’s license
Working conditions
The usual and customary methods of performing the job's functions require the following physical demands: significant lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling; significant climbing and balancing; significant stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling; and significant fine finger dexterity. The job is performed under some temperature extremes and under conditions with some exposure to risk of injury and/or illness.
