Job Title: Elementary Instructional Support Teacher - Bilingual
Wage/Hour Status: Exempt

Reports to: Campus Principal
Pay Grade: 193 Matrix Scale
Days: 193 days

Primary Purpose: 

Provide targeted instructional support and intervention to improve outcomes for at-risk students while supporting the implementation of a Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS). Collaborate with campus leadership, bilingual and monolingual teachers, and other instructional staff to monitor student progress, support language acquisition, analyze data, and ensure effective Tier I, Tier II, and Tier III supports that promote student achievement and access to grade-level instruction in the targeted language.

 

Qualifications:

Education/Certification:

Education: Master’s degree preferred.

Certification: Valid Texas teaching bilingual certificate

Non-refundable fee (approximately $50.00) paid by the employee

 

Experience:

  • Minimum 3–5 years of successful classroom experience in elementary bilingual education.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of early literacy and numeracy and effective strategies to support diverse language learners.

Special Knowledge/Skills:

  • Knowledge of Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) framework and intervention strategies for Tier I, Tier II, and Tier III instruction.
  • Knowledge of curriculum, TEKS, ELPS,  and effective instructional practices that support student achievement.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret student performance data to guide instructional decisions and interventions.
  • Knowledge of research-based intervention strategies for supporting at-risk students
  • Ability to support K–2 bilingual and monolingual instruction through targeted, data-driven instruction that strengthen foundational literacy and numeracy within an RTI/MTSS framework
  • Strong collaboration, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to facilitate professional learning and support campus teams in implementing instructional supports.
  • Knowledge of progress monitoring tools, assessment systems, and data tracking methods.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, parents, and campus leadership.

Major Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Provide targeted instructional support and interventions for at-risk students to improve academic outcomes, access to grade-level curriculum, and language acquisition and development.
  • Support the implementation of a Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) by assisting campus staff in planning and delivering Tier I, Tier II, and Tier III interventions.
  • Collaborate with campus leadership and teachers to analyze student data, identify learning gaps, and develop targeted instructional strategies.
  • Model effective instructional practices and provide support to teachers to strengthen classroom instruction and intervention practices.
  • Assist in the development and monitoring of student intervention plans and progress monitoring systems.
  • Facilitate or support professional development related to MTSS, intervention strategies, and effective instructional practices.
  • Support campus teams in ensuring fidelity of implementation for interventions and instructional supports.
  • Maintain appropriate documentation and records related to student interventions, progress monitoring, and program implementation.
  • Collaborate with teachers, administrators, parents, and support staff to support the academic and personal growth of students.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the campus administrator or district leadership.
  • Collaborate with bilingual and monolingual classroom teachers to support K–5 students through targeted interventions that accelerate learning and promote academic success.

  • Tools/Equipment Used: Standard office equipment including personal computer and peripherals
  • Posture: Prolonged sitting; occasional standing, walking, climbing, crouching, bending, stooping, pushing/pulling, and twisting, lifting-lower 1-15 lbs.
  • Motion: Repetitive hand motions, frequent keyboarding and use of mouse; occasional reaching. Sensory ability needs-significant; hearing, near vision, peripheral vision color distinction, depth perception
  • Lifting: Occasional light lifting and carrying (less than 15 pounds)
  • Environment: Frequent district-wide and state-wide travel; frequent prolonged and irregular hours, Physical Exposure: frequent cold and heat
  • Mental Demands: Work with frequent interruptions; maintain emotional control under stress

Salary : $61,254 - $75,845
