Print Production Assistant (Part-Time/Seasonal)

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated part-time/seasonal Print Production Assistant to join our in-house Digital Lab team supporting live events, exhibits, brand activations, touring productions, and custom scenic environments. Primary Responsibilities:

As a Print Production Assistant at Multi Image Group, you will be an integral part of our production team, who will be responsible for:

• Preparation for Show site / Delivery/Storage: Assist in preparing items for delivery or storage including but not limited to completing our QC process, proper packaging of all items, entering into inventory software (Hiretrack) and ensuring all prints are well-organized and protected to maintain their quality.
• Printer/CNC: Loading materials, and operating machine(s) for optimal functionality. Knowledge of printer RIP software’s is preferred.
• Vinyl Installation: Working with the Digital Lab Manager to train in the vinyl installation process in house and on location

Secondary Responsibilities

• Lab Administration: Assists the Digital Lab Manager with keeping up with the lab deliverables list, making calls to vendors and internal clients on status of items, ordering of supplies, helping to maintain a line of communication between the Digital Lab and other departments, coordinate deliveries and pickups as needed for print work
• Art File & Substrate Proofing: Thoroughly review art files to ensure all fonts, bleeds, pictures, etc. are up to required standard prior to print and making necessary adjustments and corrections as needed; review print samples for proper color matching to PMS swatches.
• Onsite Print Installation: Working with the production team onsite to assist in installing banners, wayfinding signs, pull up banners and vinyl installation.

Requirements & Competencies:

• Background in graphic art and design; Associate degree in graphics a plus
• Must be computer proficient – Office 365 is a must
• Proficiency in graphic design software - Adobe Illustrator / Photoshop is a must
• Proficiency in Onyx or similar RIP software
• Proficiency in vinyl installation techniques, including car wrap techniques
• Proficiency with color and color differentiation, specifically as it relates to PMS color matching
• Experience running large format printers (We run HP R2000)
• Experience in running a CNC machine a plus (We run Zund G3 3XL-1600)
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to multi-task (both to a single project and multiple projects), manage priorities, and deliver work on/before deadline
• Excellent communication skills - written and verbal
• Ability to be on call after hours and weekends as needed for projects
• A positive attitude, strong work ethic, and a willingness to learn and grow in a fast-paced environment
• Knowledge of CAD software a plus (we are a Vectorworks house)

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to travel to client locations for site surveys and on-site installations, ensuring quality and accuracy in execution
• Ability to stand for long periods of time, sit and view a computer screen for long periods (4 hours or more)
• Ability to lift 50 pounds or more
• Ability to use a ladder for installations up to 8 feet high
• Ability to use a lift for higher installations
• Ability to lean over a waist-high table, sit or kneel for long periods of time to apply vinyl
• Color vision required to be able to distinguish colors in color matching
