Job Overview
We are seeking an energetic and reliable part-time Delivery Driver to join our team! In this vital role, you will be responsible for safely transporting our products to customers, ensuring timely deliveries, and building positive relationships with clients. Your role will involve route driving, customer service, and maintaining compliance with transportation regulations—all while representing our company professionally.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial trucks and vans to deliver plastics and related products to various locations.
- Follow designated routes efficiently while adhering to DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations and safety standards.
- Assist with loading and unloading merchandise, practicing safe lifting techniques and heavy lifting practices.
- Communicate effectively with clients upon delivery, addressing questions and ensuring customer satisfaction.
- Maintain accurate delivery logs, route documentation, and delivery records for organizational purposes.
- Upsell additional products or services when appropriate to enhance customer experience and sales opportunities.
- Perform routine vehicle inspections before and after trips to ensure safety and compliance.
Experience
- Proven experience in commercial driving or delivery roles, preferably within retail or wholesale environments.
- Strong knowledge of route driving, automobile transportation, and safe lifting practices.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to build rapport with clients.
- Basic math skills for handling material, and inventory counts.
- Ability to sit and stand for long periods of time and ability to lift 50 pounds.
- Managing organizational tasks efficiently while maintaining a positive attitude.
- Knowledge of DOT regulations and safety standards related to commercial truck driving is highly desirable.
