What are the responsibilities and job description for the Kennel Technician position at Mullins Veterinary Hospital?
- Provide clean, safe, and comfortable housing for all animals in the clinic
- Feed and water patients and boarders per veterinary instructions
- Clean and disinfect runs, litterboxes, bowls and laundry
- Walk the dogs regularly throughout the day to ensure adequate exercise and bathroom breaks
- Monitor animals for signs of illness, stress, or abnormal behaviors and reports concerns to appropriate staff
- Bathe pets and perform basic grooming as needed. Examples: nail trims, ear cleanings, baths, anal gland expression, etc.
- Assist in animal handling and restraint for exams, treatments, and procedures as needed
- Sweep, mop, and sanitize floors in animal holding areas and common spaces
- Remove and properly dispose of animal waste using appropriate methods
- Properly label and store foods, medications, and personal property of boarding and hospitalized patients
- Assist with restocking supplies, trash removal, and other support duties as needed.
