What are the responsibilities and job description for the HVAC Install Manager position at Mullet Man Air Conditioning?
You're done babysitting chaos.
You want a shop that runs with purpose, where teams are coached, jobs are tight, and the day doesn't feel like one long fire drill.
You want real responsibility, real support, and a seat where your decisions actually matter.
If you're built to lead people, protect standards, and keep operations sharp, keep reading.
Who We Are
Mulletman brings bold, friendly expertise to every project. We help, learn, and deliver with purpose so people can get back to work and enjoy the ride.
As our HVAC Operations Manager, you'll step into a company that believes in being business up front and only party when you are back to cool. If you care about doing things right, building strong teams, and creating a better customer experience, you'll fit the heartbeat here.
What You'll Be Doing
Your day lives at the center of the install operation. You'll coordinate equipment, materials, subs, permits, warranties, and schedules so jobs move cleanly and customers get a world-class buying experience.
This role is 20% leadership and 80% management. You'll be in the office most of the time, with light local field work, keeping a close eye on install performance while keeping inventory, fleet, and facility standards.
You'll coach in real time with installers. You'll monitor KPIs, guide teams through revenue-generating activities, develop leaders from within, and protect a happy, healthy, wealthy culture to the death. When you do this well, people feel it. The team grows. The customer wins. The operation stays cool under pressure.
The Hiring Process
We have a rigorous process for hiring, but move FAST for the right person. We've had lots of interest, so the first few steps are automated to make sure you can get considered quickly.
Don't worry—if you take the time to apply, we will respond to 100% of the applicants.
The process:
- Click apply and answer a few Who, What, When questions. (5 min)
- You'll be texted a link for a 10 min questionnaire that will help match you to the job (or others that might suit you!).
- You'll get a text for a quick 1-way video question. (5 min)
- We'll send you a link to get scheduled for an in-person interview.
- You can easily be in for an interview within a couple days from right now.
What You'll Earn
This role pays $60,000 to $80,000 per year. You'll also have medical, dental, a 401k, and paid vacation. The expected time commitment is 40 to 50 hours per week, with early mornings, some late nights during peak season, and some weekends and holidays as needed.
Why Work With Us
If you want a role where you can hide in spreadsheets and stay distant from people, this isn't it. If you don't want to coach, train, and hold standards in the moment, you won't like this job.
If you do want to lead from the front, this gives you room to make an impact. You'll help defend a trustworthy and grateful culture, support high-performing install teams, and help people win.

Who We're Looking For
You'll do well here if you're disciplined, motivated, and serious about standards. You know how to keep people accountable without crushing them. You care about world-class experiences, clean operations, and developing leaders from within.
- You have at 4 years of hands on HVAC Installation and/or install management experience
- You stay on top of schedules, materials, permits, subs, warranties, and moving parts
- You can work closely with logistics on inventory, fleet, facility, and safety
- You believe culture is something you protect, not something you talk about once a year
- You can handle early mornings, peak-season late nights, and occasional weekends or holidays
