Payroll Administrator - New Market, MD

Mullens Markings is looking for a detail-oriented Payroll Administrator to join our team. In this role, you'll support payroll, certified payroll, accounting, and office operations while helping ensure our employees are paid accurately and our branch operates efficiently.

• Process and review employee timecards for accuracy and completeness.
• Prepare, review, and submit certified payroll reports for prevailing wage projects.
• Ensure compliance with Davis-Bacon Act requirements and project labor compliance regulations.
• Process payroll changes and support employee onboarding.
• Enter accounts payable invoices and supporting documentation.
• Order office supplies and coordinate branch employee engagement activities.
• Administer the branch Safety Bingo program.
• Serve as backup to the Accounting Manager by assisting with:
  • Customer invoicing and billing
  • Collections and outstanding receivables
  • Accounting data entry
  • Maryland sales tax reporting
  • Vehicle registration and renewals

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 1 year of Certified Payroll experience, preferably in construction or heavy civil.
• 2 years of general accounting or payroll experience.
• Experience with QuickBooks Time or similar timekeeping software preferred.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
• Strong organizational, communication, and multitasking skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
