Operating Room Nurse

Job Overview:

The Muhlenberg ASC is seeking an experienced full-time Operating Room Nurse with solid knowledge of both circulating and scrubbing procedures. This is a fast paced environment that is driven to reach the highest quality and commitment to patient care. Must have previous OR experience to be considered.

Position Qualifications:

• Graduate from an accredited school of nursing
• Possess valid state of New Jersey Registered Nursing license
• Current BLS certification
• ACLS, PALS must be obtained within six (6) months of hire
• CNOR preferred
• At least 3 years perioperative services experience preferred, 1 year operating room experience nurse required
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
• Able to thrive and succeed in a team environment
• Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills

Essential Job Functions:

• Promotes the mission, vision, and values of the organization
• Performs accounting procedures to protect the patient from unintended retained surgical items
• Manages the patient’s specimens in the appropriate manner
• Communicates the patient’s current status to the appropriate parties throughout the continuum of care
• Administers medications safely and correctly
• Performs interventions to protect the patient from surgical site infection
• Protects the patient’s rights, dignity, and privacy; providing culturally and age-appropriate, ethical care within legal standards of practice
• Ensure that the proper supplies and equipment are available
• Ability to care for patients with changing medical priorities and ability to respond accordingly
• Performs required documentation and communicates in a competent and effective manner to meet patient and/or family needs and regulatory requirements.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Per diem

Pay: $50.00 - $55.00 per hour

• Operating Room Nurse: 1 year (Required)

License/Certification:

• New Jersey Registered Nursing License (Required)
