Position Summary
The Food Service Store Assistant Manager supports the Food Service Store Manager in daily operations, including staff supervision, food safety compliance, inventory control, and maintaining quality standards for all food products.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist in supervising and training food service associates.
- Support scheduling and labor coverage based on business needs.
- Ensure compliance with food safety standards, health codes, and company procedures.
- Assist with product ordering, receiving, inventory rotation, and waste control.
- Ensure consistent quality, portioning, and presentation of food products.
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards across the food service area.
- Assist with daily cash handling, deposits, and paperwork as required.
- Handle guest concerns and ensure service recovery as needed.
- Support execution of promotions and menu rollouts.
- Serve as Manager-on-Duty in the Food Service Manager’s absence.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Leadership and coaching ability.
- Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and production standards.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work under pressure and prioritize tasks.
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Prior food service experience required; supervisory experience preferred.
- Food safety certification required or must be obtained within a set timeframe.
- Ability to work flexible hours including early mornings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
- Stand for long periods; frequent lifting up to 50 pounds.
- Work in hot/cold environments including ovens, grills, and coolers.
- Frequent bending, reaching, and repetitive motions.
