What are the responsibilities and job description for the Social Media Strategist position at Mueller Design?
We're looking for a Social Media Strategist to help shape a large-scale, mission-driven social campaign. You'll own the strategy (what we post, where, why, and how we know it's working) and partner with our design, video, and client teams to bring it to life.
This isn't a scheduling-and-captions role. We want someone who understands what makes audiences stop, engage, share, and take action.
What You'll Do
- Develop an integrated social strategy tied to awareness, participation, and fundraising goals.
- Build and manage annual, monthly, and weekly content calendars.
- Set platform-specific direction for Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, YouTube, and emerging channels.
- Shape the content, formats, and messaging (Reels, Stories, short-form video, interviews, photography, longer-form storytelling), working with our creative team to produce them.
- Write hooks, copy, and calls to action, and help establish a consistent voice and storytelling approach.
- Work with our paid media resources to connect organic and paid strategy.
- Track performance and audience sentiment, and turn insights into clear next steps.
- Keep content moving from planning through approval and publication across our team and the client's.
- Stay current on platform changes and emerging trends.
What We're Looking For
- 3 years developing and managing successful social campaigns, including building strategy, not just executing one.
- Strong platform knowledge, including social-first video.
- Experience with analytics, paid social, and social management tools.
- Excellent writing, creative judgment, and organization.
- Confidence presenting recommendations to teams and clients.
- A portfolio or case studies showing measurable results.
A Plus: Adobe Creative Cloud (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere Pro) or design, photo, or video skills. These are bonuses, not substitutes for social expertise.
