What are the responsibilities and job description for the Sales Associate position at Mueggenburg Farms, Inc.?
Mueggenburg USA is a small family business which offers hundreds of bulk herbs, spices, and botanical ingredients to the food, tea, and nutraceutical industry.
We are looking for an ambitious and self-motivated sales associate to expand our business into new markets, particularly the spice and pet food ingredient wholesale market.
Primary responsibilities:
- Establish sales leads through email, phone calls, trade shows, or online platforms
- Create and maintain monthly price lists for specific target market
- Customer service, main point of contact for customer
- Coordinate lead-times and packaging with production/warehouse
Secondary Responsibilities:
- Organize and attend trade shows
- Travel for in-person key account meetings
- Internal training for other sales staff as needed
- Sourcing ingredients as necessary
Experience:
- Familiar with basic sales and shipping principles, such as sales orders, invoicing, delivery terms.
- Spice or herbal industry experience preferred.
- Price negotiation and sales tactics.
Skills:
- Very proficient with Microsoft Office. Particularly Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Familiar with Quickbooks or comparable accounting system.
- Excellent computer skills and working on various online sales platforms.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Good organizational skills.
- Good negotiation skills.
- Good in-person sales skills when talking face-to-face with a customer.
Initially we request working from our facility in Culver, OR as the team member is trained and becomes familiar with the product and processes. In due time the team member may work fully or semi-remotely.
Candidate must undergo background and drug screening.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $21.00 - $23.00 per hour
Expected hours: 35 – 40 per week
