Position Summary
MudPenny Bartenders craft high-quality cocktails, coffee cocktails, and beverage experiences that elevate the guest visit. You’ll balance speed, precision, and hospitality—creating drinks that are consistent, beautifully presented, and rooted in MudPenny’s standards. Bartenders also support servers, maintain a clean and organized bar, and ensure every guest feels genuinely welcomed.
Key ResponsibilitiesBeverage Preparation & Service
- Prepare all cocktails, mocktails, coffee cocktails, and specialty beverages to MudPenny specs.
- Maintain consistency, accuracy, and presentation standards for all drinks.
- Execute high-volume service with speed and composure during peak hours.
- Recommend drinks, pairings, and seasonal features with confidence.
Guest Experience
- Deliver warm, genuine, and professional hospitality at all times.
- Engage with bar guests directly—offering suggestions, answering questions, and creating an inviting environment.
- Support servers with drinks, excellent communication, and smooth workflow during service.
Bar Operations & Cleanliness
- Maintain a clean, organized, and fully stocked bar at all times.
- Set up and break down bar stations; restock spirits, mixers, garnishes, and prep ingredients.
- Ensure all bar equipment is properly cleaned and maintained.
- Follow opening, closing, and sidework procedures consistently.
Safety, Compliance & Standards
- Adhere to all Michigan liquor laws and MudPenny alcohol service policies.
- Check IDs properly and maintain responsible alcohol service practices.
- Maintain cleanliness according to health and sanitation standards.
- Complete required trainings and knowledge tests as needed.
Qualifications
- 1–2 years bartending experience in a high-volume or craft-focused setting preferred.
- Strong cocktail knowledge; experience with craft techniques is a plus.
- Ability to multitask, work efficiently, and stay calm under pressure.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Passion for hospitality and creating memorable guest experiences.
- Must be 18 (21 preferred) and have a valid Michigan alcohol server certification (or ability to obtain).
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: From $13.00 per hour
Expected hours: 20 – 40 per week
