Duties
- Perform grooming services including bathing, brushing, trimming, clipping, and styling tailored to each dog's breed and individual needs
- Assess each dog's coat condition and skin health, recommending additional care or treatments as necessary
- Handle dogs safely and confidently using proper animal restraint techniques to ensure comfort and safety for both pet and groomer
- Maintain a clean and organized grooming station, including sanitizing tools and work areas after each appointment
- Communicate effectively with pet owners about grooming procedures, aftercare instructions, and any concerns observed during the grooming process
- Assist with pet handling during other animal care activities such as kennel duties when needed.
Experience
- Prior experience in pet grooming or animal handling is highly preferred, especially with dogs of various breeds and sizes
- Knowledge of dog training principles and veterinary experience are advantageous for understanding canine behavior and health considerations
- Experience working with veterinary technicians or veterinary assistants enhances your ability to recognize health issues during grooming
- Familiarity with animal restraint techniques, pet care routines, and kennel operations is beneficial

- Physical ability to perform heavy lifting of dogs or equipment when necessary.
