Muddy Paws Bathhouse, Bend’s premiere pet grooming salon, is looking for a skilled and experienced individual to join our team as a dog groomer. We’re a neighborhood business known for providing clean, friendly, safe, and—above all—compassionate dog grooming. We’re seeking someone who shares our values and can uphold the supportive, high-standard culture we’ve built.

Our ideal candidate takes pride in their craft, handles pets with care and confidence, and contributes to a respectful, efficient, and positive team environment.

This position can be full-time or part-time, depending on your availability. It is paid at 50% commission plus tips.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Perform breed-standard and custom grooming with consistency and attention to detail
• Bathe, dry, and brush dogs using safe handling techniques and knowledge of canine coat types
• Trim nails, clean ears, externally express glands, and brush teeth
• Check-In/Out appointments while communicating clearly with clients about grooming needs, services, and results
• Work closely with the front desk and bathing teams to ensure smooth, on-time appointments
• Maintain and sanitize grooming tools, equipment, and workstations throughout the day
• Provide timely, high-quality grooms in a fast-paced environment
• Assist with general cleaning (dusting, vacuuming, mopping, windows, as needed)

Skills & Experience:

• Minimum 2 years of professional dog grooming experience
• Proficiency in scissoring, clipping, and finishing techniques for all coat types
• Confidence in handling dogs of all breeds and sizes, with a solid understanding of canine body language and behavior cues
• Patience and consistency in handling all dogs with compassion, regardless of temperament
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills (in-person and over the phone)
• Excellent time management and problem-solving abilities
• Ability to stand, bend, crouch, and lift up to 60 pounds consistently throughout the shift
• Punctual, dependable, and able to manage appointments independently

Schedule & Availability:

Full-time team members typically work 4 days per week, with shifts ranging from 9 to 10 hours each. Our salon is open Monday through Saturday, from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM.
