Adventure Guide & Camp Councelor - Seasonal, Part-Time or Full-Time
Operating since 1994, Mud City Adventures is Stowe Area’s original adventure day camp for kids ages 6 to 12. Every day is a new adventure as the local mountains, lakes, rivers, and trails are explored and the outdoors become our playground. Counselors work to support our lead guides in group activities including canoeing, kayaking, swimming hole hopping, river trekking, hiking, tubing, fort and survival tool building, camp fire cooking, mountain biking, nature crafting, and more. The ideal candidate is passionate about being outdoors no matter what the weather, loves to engage with kids and foster a positive group dynamic, and can work as a team to overcome challenges together. Counselors are key to the overall rich camp experience by encouraging and inspiring campers, forging relationships, building trust, and most importantly of all - bringing the fun to every adventure. Developing leadership skills and taking on responsibilities, counselors grow and thrive at Mud City Adventures, gaining a wealth of experience and confidence. Candidates must be age 15 to apply. Please ask us about our Counselors-in-Training program for ages 12-14 or our Lead Adventure Guide position for ages 18 . Prior experience working with kids, prior outdoor guide experience, or past summer camp experience is a plus.
Adventure Camp Counselor is a seasonal position available from June 22 to September 4, 2026, Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 4:30pm, with flexible scheduling and a minimum of a 6 week commitment. We support both full time and part time schedules, ranging from 2-5 days per week. Additional work opportunities for overnight camping experiences are available throughout this summer with interest.

Responsibilities include:
- Support a group of adventurers through the day's assigned activity, working with a lead guide. Most days include a transfer by passenger van to the adventure's location.
- Assist with gear assembly, organization and packing/unpacking of equipment.
- Supervise other camp activities, games and crafts, provide instruction and support.
- Foster a positive camp environment, interact with campers, keep the adventure spirit alive.
