Coiling Machine Operator

A coiling operator is a part of the process in our Coil Spring building whose main responsibility is operating the coiling machine. This also includes changing coils, changing tooling, dropping wire, gauging parts consistently, and adjusting the coiling program as needed.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Use of a crane • Use of a fork truck • Self Sufficiency • Use of technology such as SAP & Excel • Mechanically inclined decision making • Working off-shift • On feet for extended amount of time • Use of tools such as wrenches, gauges, pencil grinder

Qualifications

• Ability to read, write and understand job documentation • Physical coordination to lift and move product • Trainable with fork lift truck • Ability to handle multiple tasks • Written and oral communication skills with attention to detail • Math ability, including conversions (English & Metric units) • Ability to read, use and understand measuring devices to .1mm • Ability to understand machine computer functions • Trainable with CNC, PLC controls and SPC documentation • Ability to load material, perform changeovers, make needed adjustments during production and tooling changes on the Coil Spring Coiling machine
