Compensation:
Base Pay Range: $25.32 to $39.99 per hour, based on experience
Special Pay: Additional $1.88 per hour until January 2, 2027
Retention Rewards:Up to $15,000
Relocation Support:Additional $5,000 if moving from over 50 miles away
Retention Reward (Option 1):$2,000 per year for up to 5 years, totaling $10,000
Student Loan Repayment (Option 2):$2,000 per year toward student loans, up to 5 years, totaling $10,000

DETAILED JOB DESCRIPTION
- Anticipates the needs of the surgical team.
- Assists with the teaching of newly hired technologists and student technologists.
- Serves as a role model to new employees and other staff members.
- Communicates effectively with patients, staff members and physicians.
- Adheres to standards, including but not limited to: unit and hospital policies and procedures, regulatory standards, and patient safety goals.
- Demonstrates appropriate and correct case preparation.
- Establishes and maintains sterile field and assure team maintains sterile environment independently.
- Applies basic knowledge of instrumentations to multiple surgical cases. Corrects deficiencies at the case level.
- Performs technical duties involving care, preparation and maintenance of sterile and non-sterile supplies and equipment in the operating rooms in order to provide a safe and effective environment.
- Completes unit/department specific duties and expectations as outlined in department documents.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities can be acquired.
One (1) year of experience as a surgical technologist; or completion of an accredited surgical tech program, the MU Health Care Surgical Tech program, or military training may be substituted for the experience.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Training and experience in all areas of specialty and Trauma (Level I) call.
Additional license/certification requirements as determined by the hiring department.
