Location: Columbia, Missouri

Shift: Monday - Friday, 8am to 5pm, evenings and weekends as needed

Department: Ambulatory Care Management

Salary Range: $59,322 to $96,762 (Pay based on experience).

Essential Functions:

  1. Utilize a variety of evidence-based psychological interventions and assessment tools.
  2. Conduct research, analyze results, and implement recommendations and new procedures to improve the delivery of care to patients.
  3. Implement evidence-based treatment for behavioral medicine concerns, such as smoking cessation, diabetes management, preventive and chronic care, insomnia, medication compliance, anxiety, depression, and adherence to care plans.
  4. Conduct brief patient contacts and make quick and accurate clinical assessments of mental and behavioral conditions.
  5. Provide brief, evidence-based mental health and behavioral medicine interventions.
  6. Evaluate crisis situations and apply appropriate interventions.
  7. Educate and support the interdisciplinary team on behavioral health issues and recommendations for effective self-care.
  8. Develop effective treatment plans and assist clients in successfully achieving their goals.
  9. Provide psychotherapy services to individuals and groups, adhering to payer guidelines for billing.
  10. Consult and collaborate with healthcare providers and other staff regarding patient care, facilitating effective communication between providers and patients/caregivers.
  11. Make referrals to outside counseling services within the surrounding communities when necessary.
  12. Document behavioral health interventions provided to patients in accordance with department/hospital policy.
  13. Complete unit/department-specific duties as outlined in department documents.
Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  1. Three (3) years of clinical experience.

  2. One of the following certifications:

    • Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) by the Missouri Committee for Professional Counselors board.

    • Licensed Psychologist by the Missouri Committee of Psychologists board.

    • Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) licensure by the Missouri State Committee for Social Workers board. Licensed Master Social Work (LMSW) staff must obtain LCSW within four (4) years as a condition of continued employment in this job classification.

Preferred Qualifications:

Additional license/certification requirements as determined by the hiring department.

The employee may be required ambulate, remain in a stationary position and position self to reach and/or move objects above the shoulders and below the knees.
