Position Summary:
Trade Compliance Administrator is responsible for identifying export control risks and conducting research to develop compliant, effective solutions. This role provides regulatory guidance, supports internal investigations, and implements risk mitigation strategies while ensuring adherence to U.S. export regulations and company policy. Responsibilities also include developing and administering training, staying current with regulatory changes, and preparing and submitting classification requests, advisory opinions, and license applications for the export of technical data, hardware, and services.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Advanced working knowledge of the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and Export Administration Regulations (EAR) to be able to research, analyze and interpret U.S. and Non-U.S. international trade regulations and laws (including ITAR, MTCR, EAR, OFAC, Customs) and in determining their effect on operations.
- Classifying hardware and technical data according to the U.S. Commerce Control List (CCL) and the U.S. Munitions List (USML)
- Prepares, submits and administers export licenses, Technical Assistance Agreements (TAA), Manufacturing License Agreements (MLA), Commerce licenses, import certificates and miscellaneous correspondence to the Department of State and Department of Commerce.
- Working knowledge of SNAP-R and DECCS portal systems
- Perform export training to new employees and current employees.
- Enters and manages export authorization submissions. Maintains export-related record-keeping functions as required by company policy and law.
- Works closely with or serves as an “Empowered Official” per the ITAR to provide required certifications to the U.S. State Department Directorate of Defense Trade Controls (DDTC).
- Able to investigate possible matters of interest, draft disclosures, determine Root Cause Analysis related to complex Voluntary Self Disclosures
- Work closely with the Legal Department/General Counsel, Contract Administration, Human Resources and Security to ensure strict compliance with U.S. global trade laws and regulations.
- Review current and future orders against proscribed countries, entities, and individuals and perform Restricted Party Screening.
- Strong organizational skills with demonstrated experience managing multiple deadlines supporting regulatory requirements and business objectives
- Ensure any required changes in registrant are submitted to DDTC to maintain export registration
- AES/ACE Administrator –Maintain password access for shipping

- Strong communication skills with the ability to interpret, understand and provide guidance to internal stakeholders on complex regulatory documents and applicable laws and regulations
- Eligibility for and ability to maintain a U.S. Government DOD Secret clearance.
- Must be able to work with ITAR data without a license.
Education, Experience and Training:
- 2 years of experience in trade compliance
- Advanced working knowledge in the ITAR and EAR is required
- Experience classifying hardware and technical data according to the U.S. Commerce Control List (CCL) and the U.S. Munitions List (USML)
- Working knowledge of SNAP-R and DECCS portal systems
Physical Requirements & Working Environment:
- This role is performed on-site and primary an in-office, along with secure facility environment.
- May require access to classified areas and materials.
- Must be able to lift up to 15lbs at times
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
- Occasionally standing, walking, or moving within the office or production department areas.
- Must adhere to safety policies and maintain a clean and organized workspace
Salary : $55,000 - $72,000
