We are currently seeking an experienced Telecommunications Lineman to join our skilled team of industry professionals. As a lineman, you will perform aerial and underground fiber-optic line construction, along with the repair and maintenance of telecom networks. You will help maintain a safe work environment by supporting crew direction, manhole and road safety, and overall project safety practices.
-Key Responsibilities-
- Perform aerial and underground fiber-optic line construction, installation, repair, and maintenance
- Follow all company and OSHA safety procedures, including manhole safety, road safety, and site safety protocols
- Support crew operations by providing direction and assisting with safe work planning
- Read, interpret, and follow engineering plans, construction prints, and job specifications
- Troubleshoot issues in the field and work with supervisors to resolve construction or fiber-related problems
- Operate cable-placing equipment, reel trailers, bucket trucks, and other tools required for fiber-optic construction
- Set up and maintain safe work zones, including traffic control when needed
- Handle fiber cables, hardware, and equipment properly to prevent damage and ensure quality installation
- Maintain equipment and tools, reporting any issues or needed repairs
- Communicate effectively with team members and contribute to efficient daily workflow
-Qualifications-
- Valid driver’s license, clean driving record, and reliable transportation required
- Previous experience as a telecommunications lineman or related construction role
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and lift/carry equipment as required
- Reliable, dependable, and capable of working well within a team
- Perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting 50lbs or more
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
- OSHA 10 Certification and Confined Space Training preferred
- Ability to read and understand engineering plans, construction prints, and technical documentation
- Ability to operate cable-placing equipment, reel trailers, and related machinery
- Strong understanding of aerial and underground fiber-optic construction methods and safety practices
- Comfortable working at heights, in bucket trucks, and in confined spaces such as manholes
- Commercial trucks and tools are provided for all job-related work
