We are currently seeking an experienced and motivated Heavy Equipment Operator to join our skilled team of industry professionals. The ideal candidate is safety-focused, reliable, and proficient in operating construction machinery. As a heavy equipment operator, you will support the installation of fiber-optic cable and other construction activities, ensuring work is completed efficiently, safely, and to high-quality standards. Candidates must possess a valid hoisting license or be willing and able to acquire one.
-Key Responsibilities-
- Operate heavy equipment including excavators, backhoes, bulldozers, skid steers, and trenchers for site preparation, trenching, and fiber installation
- Assist crews with aerial, underground, and structured fiber-optic cable installation
- Prepare, maintain, and clean job sites, including grading, backfilling, and restoring work areas
- Load, unload, and transport construction materials and equipment safely
- Perform daily equipment inspections and report maintenance or repair needs
- Follow all OSHA and company safety procedures while operating equipment
- Coordinate with crew members and supervisors to ensure smooth job site operations
- Assist with manual tasks on the job site as needed
- Work outdoors in all weather conditions and adapt to fast-paced project environments
-Qualifications-
- Valid driver’s license, clean driving record, and reliable transportation required
- Must possess a valid hoisting license or be willing and able to acquire one
- Proven experience operating heavy construction equipment (excavators, backhoes, bulldozers, etc.)
- Knowledge of fiber-optic construction preferred but not required
- Ability to pass a drug test and background check
- OSHA 10 Certification and Confined Space Training preferred
- Flexibility to work overtime, including evenings and weekends when required
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting 50lbs or more
- Strong communication, teamwork, and reliability skills
