Mountain View Chevrolet in Chattanooga, TN is seeking an experienced Automatic Transmission Technician who can independently diagnose, overhaul, and repair General Motors automatic transmissions. Candidates with GM dealership experience, current GM transmission certifications, and demonstrated proficiency in transmission diagnostics and internal repairs are strongly encouraged to apply. Responsibilities:

• Diagnoses, maintain, and repair General Motors automatic transmissions
• Performs work specified on the repair order with efficiency and in accordance with dealership standards
• Tests components and systems using diagnostic tools and special service equipment
• Communicates directly with the Service Advisor so that customers can be informed if any additional service is needed. Provide an estimate of time needed for additional repairs
• Executes repairs under warranty to manufacturer specifications

Requirements:

• Must have 2 years of experience as an Automatic Transmission Technician
• Experience with GM gas powertrains
• High School diploma or equivalent
• ASE certification preferred.
• Ability to read and comprehend written instructions and information
• Knowledge in all aspects of automotive repair and maintenance
• Must have a valid driver’s license and satisfactory MVR
• Ability to identify problems quickly
• Ability to learn new technology, repair and service procedures and specifications
• Able to operate electronic diagnostic equipment
• Must be able to lift 50 Lbs
