A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A Manufacturing Engineer
The Manufacturing Engineer supports production processes for the purpose of enhancing safety, part quality and consistency, as well as throughput improvement and cost reduction. This position will typically be focused on improvements related to CNC machining and pump assembly but may also lead or work within cross functional teams throughout the company. This position reports to the Manufacturing Manager with interactions between all departments.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s Degree in Manufacturing Engineering or closely related topic and 4 Years of Manufacturing Engineering experience or equivalent experience in a similar role.
- Ability to create Work Instructions, SOP’s, Set-Up Sheets, and other process documentation.
- Functional knowledge of G & M code programming. Ability to write code and/or use Esprit programming software preferred.
- Ability to read blueprints, utilize micrometers, calipers, height gauges and other inspection equipment as needed.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Experience with AutoCAD and/or SolidWorks and understanding GD&T.
- Experience with ISO 9001/14001 or other similar quality environment.
- Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, 5-S and Six Sigma. Six Sigma Green belt/Black belt certification a plus.
- Ability to work well with others or in an individual capacity.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assists in programming CNC equipment (5 axis Mazak Integrex) and robotic welders, as well as designs fixtures/tools to be used on those machines.
- Analyze and plan workforce utilization, space requirements, and workflow, and design layout of equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency.
- Lead, Co-Lead and/or participate in continuous improvement activities throughout the facility
- Conduct root cause analysis to identify and resolve manufacturing issues
- Manage multiple projects, including delegating assignments where appropriate.
