About the Company
MTE Communications is seeking a Technology Operations Manager to lead and unify our network, systems, and technical support teams across our rural broadband footprint. We are an employee-owned telecommunications provider delivering fiber-to-the-home (FTTH), fixed wireless, DSL, and voice services in Idaho and Arizona.
About the Role
This role provides functional technical leadership, strengthens cross-team coordination, and builds operational discipline across multi-state infrastructure. This is a hands-on leadership role, not a CIO position, but it requires strong technical credibility and team leadership presence.
Responsibilities
- Direct oversight of network administrators, systems administration, and technical support
- Lead weekly technical cadence and coordination across teams
- Serve as primary technical escalation point
- Improve communication, documentation, and accountability
- Strengthen cybersecurity fundamentals (MFA, patching, logging, backups)
- Cybersecurity and Cybersecurity Supply Chain
- Risk Management Policies, based on the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Cybersecurity Framework (CSF) version 2.0.
- Improve incident response structure and outage coordination
- Build a cohesive, high-functioning technical team
Qualifications
- Strong network fundamentals (routing, switching, firewalls, VLANs, OSI model)
- Experience in telecom, ISP, or distributed service-provider environments
- Demonstrated team leadership experience
- Strong communication and facilitation skills
- Hands-on scripting/automation experience (PowerShell, Python, Bash, etc.)
- Working knowledge of IT Service Management principles
- Experience enforcing access controls and patch management

Pay range and compensation package
$100,000 – $120,000 DOE
