What are the responsibilities and job description for the Fab Zone Mentor position at MTD Consumer Group Inc?
Job Title: Mentor - Fabrication Location/s: Willard OH USA - S Conwell Avenue • Assist with training, development, and coaching of personnel to ensure a successful transition to the facility • Orient new associates to facility departments as assigned (e.g. assembly lines, workstations, etc.) • Assist with day one introductions to ensure associates are well informed • Provide encouragement and guidance on a daily basis to establish an engaged workforce • Develop, encourage, and maintain a positive work environment • Operate all equipment and tools safely and appropriately • Maintain a good working relationship with department leadership within the facility • Encourage compliance to all SBD safety regulations and procedures by example • Provide departmental support to meet operations and production needs • Recognize concerns and identify opportunities for continuous improvement • Conduct evaluations related to performance • Maintain documentation related to the tracking of new associates progress (e.g. evaluations) Minimum Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED Prefer current full time SBD Employee, however candidate must have minimum of 6 months SBD experience and/or knowledge Demonstrated understanding of the daily operations of the facility Proven success as an Assembler and/or Zone Leader (i.e. good performance, attitude, & attendance) Working knowledge of the facility, including: tools, parts, and hardware Previous coaching, training, or mentoring experience is preferred Ability to inspire and motivate others in fast paced and stressful environments Proven ability to develop and oversee projects through completion Troubleshooting and problem solving skills Ability to be patient, empathize, and be socially aware Knowledge of all pertinent ISO standards Ability to work with associates at all levels of the facility Effective verbal and written communication skills Ability to stand, walk, and periodically lift up to 40 lbs. during an eight hour shift We Don’t Just Build The World, We Build Innovative Technology Too.
