Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and result-oriented Freight Brokerage Manager to oversee day-to-day brokerage operations, manage carrier and client relationships, and lead a team to ensure smooth and profitable freight movement. The ideal candidate will have strong negotiation, communication, and leadership skills, with a solid understanding of transportation markets and logistics technology.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operations Management
Oversee daily freight brokerage activities including load booking, dispatching, and tracking.
Ensure on-time pick-up and delivery performance.
Manage end-to-end freight lifecycle — from client booking to carrier payment.
Monitor load margins, optimize carrier costs, and improve profitability.
Ensure compliance with all transport and documentation standards.
- Carrier & Client Relations
Develop and maintain strong relationships with carriers, shippers, and clients.
Negotiate freight rates and contracts to ensure competitive pricing and quality service.
Handle escalations, service issues, and customer queries effectively.
Expand carrier network to improve lane coverage and capacity.
- Team Leadership
Supervise and guide a team of brokers, dispatchers, and operations executives.
Conduct regular performance reviews and set sales and service targets.
Train new team members on systems, negotiation, and customer service.
- Data & Technology
Utilize TMS (Transportation Management Systems) or CRM tools for operations tracking.
Analyze freight performance metrics and prepare weekly/monthly reports.
Identify process improvements through automation and digital tools.
- Qualifications & Skills:
Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business Administration, or related field.
5–8 years of experience in freight brokerage, logistics, or trucking operations (preferably managerial).
Strong negotiation and analytical skills.
Excellent communication and relationship management.
Familiarity with logistics software / TMS platforms.
Leadership ability with hands-on problem-solving approach.
