What are the responsibilities and job description for the Kindergarten Teacher position at Mt. Zion Christian School?
Mt. Zion Christian School is seeking a passionate and devoted kindergarten teacher. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of child development, a heart for Christian education, and a desire to connect with, care for, and teach young students. The ideal candidate will also have experience in the kindergarten classroom and a strong background in the science of reading.
Teacher Responsibilities:
- Demonstrate love for God
- Demonstrate spiritual maturity, a teachable spirit and reverence towards God
- Express knowledge of the Bible and its application
- Model an exemplary Christian walk in speech and actions
- Submit to authority out of obedience to Christ
- Demonstrate love for students
- Treat each child as uniquely gifted by God
- Discipline all students fairly and firmly with an attitude of love
- Evaluate students’ progress with fairly applied criterion
- Demonstrate professional competence
- Maintain a classroom environment conducive to learning
- Develop and implement lesson plans to cover the approved curriculum
- Challenge each student to grow to his or her maximum potential
Teacher Requirements:
- Must be a born-again Christian who knows the Lord Jesus as his/her personal Savior
- Must agree with the Tenets of Faith of MZCC/MZCS, and the Mission Statement and Philosophy of MZCS
- Must manifest by precept and example the highest Christian virtue and personal decorum, living to a high standard of Christian conduct
- Must hold a BA or BS from an accredited college or university. (Exemptions may be made for part-time or substitute teachers only by board and principal approval)
- Must hold a current certification in Wisconsin in the subject area or grade level for which the teacher is hired. (Exemptions made only by the board and principal approval)
- Must be an active member of a Bible believing church whose fundamental beliefs are in agreement with the tenets of Faith of Mt. Zion Christian Church
