Mt. Zion CDC Preschool was established to provide a safe, nurturing learning environment that meets the needs of preschool children ages 3 to 5. Our program is developmentally appropriate, educationally sound, and respectful of the individuality of each child, their families, and the diverse community we serve.
Mt. Zion CDC Preschool, a contracted provider for New Brunswick Public Schools, is seeking an enthusiastic, dedicated, and experienced Family Worker to support up to 60 families.
The Family Worker is a social services professional who serves as an advocate and liaison for children and families by providing guidance, support, and access to resources. This position is responsible for maintaining ongoing communication with the families of enrolled students to help ensure their needs are met, including identifying social service and health-related needs. The Family Worker also strengthens partnerships between families and teachers and collaborates with the instructional team to provide comprehensive family support. A foundational understanding of child development is required.
This position reports to the Director of the Preschool and the Community Development Corporation and works collaboratively under their guidance and direction.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications, experience, and attributes:
- Bachelor’s degree in Social Work or a related field preferred.
- Experience in an early childhood program or related setting required.
- Experience working with low-income and/or urban populations preferred.
- Bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English required.
- Excellent organizational, analytical, oral, and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Ability to meet strict deadlines, manage multiple priorities, and perform effectively under pressure.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Demonstrated maturity, integrity, and sound professional judgment.
Compensation and Benefits
This is a full-time, non-exempt salaried position. Compensation is commensurate with experience. Some early evening and weekend hours may be required.
