HIRING URGENTLY: Flexible part-time or full-time opportunity! Minimum 15 hours a week.
We are one of the top 10 state liquor stores in Montana, and we're looking for an upbeat and attentive Retail Sales Associate to join our team to provide excellent customer service, learn about and sell some amazing products, and keep our store looking great.
This is a part-time position with the opportunity to become full-time, 15-40 hours per week, with Saturday morning shifts every week and Sundays in December required.
Applicants must be able to lift up to 40 pounds and stand for prolonged periods. Must have a positive attitude, strong customer service skills, and experience as a cashier. Spirits and Liquor knowledge is a huge plus!
Responsibilities
- Greet and engage with customers
- Provide accurate information about our products, including location on the shelf, price, sales trends, and new releases
- Answer customers’ questions about specific products/services
- Become proficient with our Point of Sale system - complete sales promptly and courteously; process wholesale orders with a focus on accuracy
- Cross-sell products and suggest alternative items
- Keep storage areas organized - must be able to repeatedly lift up to 40 pounds
- Stock low-stock items and maintain store cleanliness
- Manage returns of merchandise
- Receive orders from bar accounts, pull those orders with accuracy and attention to detail, create invoices and purchase orders, and keep orders organized
- Coordinate with other staff members to ensure excellent customer service at all business volumes
- Follow Montana State Law in regard to responsible sale of alcoholic beverages
- Provide customer feedback to the Store Manager
- Stay up-to-date with new Liquor and Wine products/services
Skills
- Proven work experience as a Retail Sales Representative, Sales Associate or similar role with cash handling required
- Understanding of the retail sales process from start to finish
- Familiarity with consumer behavior principles
- Knowledge of inventory and stocking procedures
- Basic math skills, basic computer skills, ability to operate POS system without touchscreen
- Microsoft Excel, Email, capable of editing and printing documents
- Excellent communication skills, capable of building trusting relationships
- Ability to perform in fast-paced environments
- Flexibility to work various shifts with a primary focus on afternoon and weekend shifts
- High school degree
- Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds
- Marketing or merchandising experience is a plus
- Liquor and Wine Experience is a plus, as is a current Responsible Seller of Alchohol certificate for Montana
