Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Asphalt Foreman to lead and oversee asphalt construction projects from inception to completion. This role is vital in ensuring that projects are executed efficiently, safely, and to the highest quality standards. The Asphalt Foreman will coordinate with project managers, subcontractors, and crew members to deliver exceptional results while maintaining strict adherence to safety protocols and project specifications. Duties
- Lead and supervise asphalt paving crews, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and according to project plans and specifications
- Coordinate daily operations on construction sites, including scheduling, resource allocation, and workflow management
- Conduct quality control inspections, review blueprints and schematics, and ensure adherence to OSHA safety standards
- Manage subcontractor activities, review contracts, and ensure compliance with all contractual obligations
- Utilize tools such as Ohmmeter for quality assurance testing of materials and equipment
- Oversee site safety protocols, conduct safety meetings, and enforce OSHA regulations to maintain a safe work environment
Skills
- Proven supervisory experience leading asphalt or heavy civil construction crews on large-scale projects
- Strong knowledge of blueprint reading, schematics interpretation, and construction estimating techniques
- Skilled in project scheduling, budgeting, and managing project timelines using Primavera or similar tools
- Familiarity with contracts management, quality control procedures, and safety standards such as OSHA regulations
- Ability to read technical schematics and use testing equipment like Ohmmeter for quality assurance purposes
- Excellent management skills with the ability to coordinate multiple teams effectively on busy construction sites
