Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough patient assessments, including medical and dental histories, to develop personalized treatment plans.
- Perform a wide range of dental procedures such as dental examinations, fillings, extractions, root canal therapy, prosthodontics, and oral surgery.
- Utilize advanced dental technology including digital radiography to diagnose conditions accurately.
- Maintain strict infection control protocols and aseptic techniques to ensure patient safety and comply with HIPAA regulations.
- Document all patient interactions meticulously in electronic health records using eForms, Eaglesoft, and Florida Probe.
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices, treatment options, and preventive care to promote long-term oral health.
- Collaborate with team members in four-handed dentistry to enhance efficiency and deliver seamless patient care.
Skills and Qualifications
- Proficiency in dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, and dental documentation standards.
- Experience with dental office management software such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix is highly desirable.
- Strong background in pediatric dentistry, endodontics (root canal therapy), prosthodontics (dental fabrication), and oral surgery procedures.
- Knowledge of infection control practices, sterilization techniques, and aseptic procedures within a dental setting.
- Excellent communication skills for explaining procedures clearly and empathetically to diverse patient populations including pediatrics.
- Familiarity with medical terminology related to dentistry and general healthcare practices.
- DDS/DMD from an accredited dental program
- Active Iowa dental license (or ability to obtain)
