What are the responsibilities and job description for the Floater/Assistant Teacher position at Mt. Pleasant Childcare Center?
Overview:
Mount Pleasant Childcare Center is seeking a dependable, energetic, and caring Assistant Teacher/Floater to join our team. This position supports teachers throughout the center by assisting with daily classroom activities, supervising children, maintaining a safe and clean environment, and helping ensure a positive experience for children and families.
The ideal candidate enjoys working with children of various ages, is flexible, works well as part of a team, and is passionate about creating a nurturing learning environment!
Duties:
- Assist lead teachers with daily classroom routines and activities
- Provide supervision and support for children ages infant through school age
- Help implement age-appropriate learning experiences and play activities
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized classroom environment
- Support children's social, emotional, and physical development
- Help with meals, snacks, diapering, toileting, and handwashing routines as needed
- Follow all licensing regulations, center policies, and health and safety procedures
- Communicate professionally with staff, families, and children
- Float between classrooms based on staffing and program needs
- Assist with opening and closing duties as assigned
Requirements:
- Must be at least 18 years old
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Experience working with children preferred but not required
- Ability to work collaboratively with a team
- Dependable, patient, and positive attitude
- Ability to pass required background checks
- CPR/First Aid certification preferred but MPCC will provide training opportunity
