Journeyman Electrician – Lumber Sawmill
Job Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled Journeyman Electrician with industrial experience to join our maintenance team at a high-production lumber sawmill. This role is critical to maintaining safe, reliable, and efficient electrical systems supporting sawmill and manufacturing operations.
Key Responsibilities:
· Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair industrial electrical systems and equipment
· Diagnose and repair motors, VFDs, PLC-controlled equipment, MCCs, and production machinery
· Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals
· Perform preventive and corrective maintenance to minimize downtime
· Work closely with maintenance and production teams to support continuous operations
· Ensure compliance with OSHA, NEC, and company safety standards
· Participate in shutdowns, upgrades, and capital improvement projects as needed
Qualifications:
· Valid Journeyman Electrician license
· Industrial electrical experience (sawmill, manufacturing, or heavy industrial preferred)
· Strong troubleshooting skills in high-voltage and low-voltage systems
· Experience with motors, controls, PLCs, and industrial automation
· Ability to work in a fast-paced, production environment
· Willingness to work shifts, weekends, and overtime as required
Preferred Experience:
· Lumber sawmill or wood products manufacturing experience
· PLC troubleshooting (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, or similar)
· Experience with conveyors, kilns, debarkers, planers, or similar equipment
