Mt. Carmel Veterans Service Center Mission: To provide best practices for our military, veterans, and their families through accessible programs, integrated resources, and collaborative partnerships that empower lives and strengthen our community.

The Veterans Business Outreach Center (VBOC) Director will be responsible for the planning, organization, and execution of the VBOC cooperative agreement with the U.S. Small Business Administration. The Director will dedicate 100% of his or her time to the program and will be the initial point of contact for VBOC clients. provides programmatic oversight for the VBOC program in Colorado. The Director will lead all activities associated with the VBOC Program, including the implementation of the U.S. Small Business Administration's (SBA) Boots to Business training, Reboot training, business counseling, case management, performance reporting, grant compliance, will serve as the point of contact for stakeholder and collaborative partners, and as a moderator for networking and outreach events. The Director will work closely with Mt. Carmel Veterans Service Center’s Executive Director, Director of Operations, and VBOC staff in strategic planning, stakeholder engagement, program and event planning and marketing to spread awareness of available services.

The VBOC Director is responsible for:

1. Overseeing the education and assistance of veterans in establishing or expanding businesses;

2. Complying with all state and federal requirements for administering the VBOC program; and

3. Training, mentoring, and developing assigned personnel and ensuring that the VBOC stays within budget while accomplishing established annual objectives.

The VBOC Director creates and implements outreach initiatives, regularly collaborates with resource partners and stakeholders, and develops both long and short-term programmatic goals. The Director is also responsible for establishing performance objectives, evaluation methodology, oversight of VBOC staff (4-person team), and reporting VBOC activities and results to the U.S. Small Business Administration. Additionally, the Director will take on other duties, as needed.

Ideally, the Director will be military-connected or have extensive experience working with/in the military/veteran community and familiarity with the SBDC and PTAC. Preference will be given to candidates with subject matter expertise in the following areas: business plan development, financial analysis, successful entrepreneurship, starting/growing and or selling a business, business lending, marketing, SDVOSB certifications, Boots to Business & ReBoot instruction, and networking.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $65,000.00 per year
