Position Summary
The Crew Supervisor oversees field operations for weatherization projects, leading and developing a team of Weatherization Specialists while ensuring jobs are completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards.
This role combines hands-on field leadership with team development, requiring strong technical expertise across multiple trades, the ability to manage daily operations, and a commitment to coaching and mentoring team members.

- Strong leadership, communication, and customer service skills
- Proven ability to train and develop team members
- 1-3 years of experience in Weatherization
- 5-10 years experience in relevant trades
- Motivated with a willingness to learn and teach multiple trades
- Comfortable working in confined spaces (attics, crawl spaces), on roofs, and in older homes
- Ability to lift 50 lbs., climb ladders, bend, reach, and perform physical labor
- Proficiency with hand and power tools
- BPI Building Analyst Certification (Ability to obtain one)
Team Leadership & Supervision
- Supervise, coach, and mentor Weatherization Specialists in the field
- Assign daily tasks and ensure productivity, quality, and efficiency
- Foster a positive, team-oriented work environment
- Train team members on proper installation techniques and safety practices
- Address performance concerns and provide ongoing feedback
- Begin day at 7:30 a.m. (Monday–Friday; 8-10 hr days)
- Review job folders, scope of work, and materials needed
- Assign roles and responsibilities to crew members
- Ensure vehicles are properly loaded with tools, equipment, and supplies
- Oversee all aspects of weatherization retrofit projects
- Ensure customer homes are protected (booties, drop cloths, plastic sheeting)
- Identify and communicate safety risks (exposed wiring, gas leaks, confined spaces)
- Enforce PPE usage and safety compliance
Lead and support installation of Energy Conservation Measures (ECMs), including:
- Insulation (blown, dense-pack, fiberglass batts)
- Air sealing (top plates, penetrations, ductwork)
- Drywall installation and finishing
- Door weatherstripping and sealing
- Ventilation systems (bath/kitchen fans, dryer vents)
- Electrical work (fixtures, outlets, wiring, panel work)
- HVAC-related installs (thermostats, baseboard heat, water heaters)
- Roof and exterior penetrations (vents, boots, sealing)
Testing & Documentation
- Conduct blower door and combustion testing
- Complete all required job documentation accurately
- Take and upload jobsite photos for verification and compliance
- Ensure jobsite is fully cleaned and restored
- Verify completion and accuracy of all paperwork
- Unload and organize tools, materials, and equipment
- Maintain cleanliness of vehicles and warehouse
- Dispose of waste and recycle materials appropriately
- Communicate with Crew Manager on job status and next-day needs
- Projects completed on time, safely, and to BPI standards
