The Role
We're looking for a Field Services Manager to lead our field operations teams, including Energy Auditors, HVAC Technicians, and Weatherization Crew personnel. You'll own the full project lifecycle from initial audit through final post-inspection, and serve as the primary people leader for these departments.
This is a role for someone who leads from the front, builds people up, and takes real ownership of operational outcomes.
What You'll Own
Team Leadership & People Management
- Day-to-day leadership of Energy Auditors, HVAC Technicians, and Weatherization Crew
- Employee performance management, coaching, development, and retention
- Foster a positive, accountable, and motivating work environment that supports safety, morale, growth, and retention
- Conduct employee performance evaluations including 60-day and annual reviews
- Address performance concerns through coaching, counseling, and disciplinary action when necessary
- Assist with recruiting, interviewing, hiring, onboarding, and separation processes in collaboration with HR and leadership
- Ensure employees are properly trained on company policies, procedures, safety standards, and quality expectations
Operational Oversight
- Oversee workflow and project completion from audit through post-inspection
- Ensure field teams are aligned appropriately to support operational goals and workload demands
- Collaborate with Service Coordination and Program Compliance teams to ensure efficient workflow and communication
- Monitor department resources, productivity, workload capacity, and operational performance metrics
- Participate in management and operational planning meetings to support company initiatives
- Assist in coordinating fleet logistics, materials availability, and operational readiness for field teams
Quality Control & Compliance
- Ensure all jobs meet company quality standards and program requirements
- Oversee completion and accuracy of required documentation, photographs, testing, and job records
- Collaborate with field personnel and compliance teams to resolve missing documentation or quality concerns
- Conduct quality reviews and support continuous improvement initiatives to reduce rework
- Ensure adherence to all company procedures, safety requirements, and program standards
Training & Development
- Train and mentor Energy Auditors and Field Service personnel on technical skills, quality standards, workflow expectations, and customer experience
- Support ongoing employee development initiatives to strengthen departmental performance and career growth
- Identify training opportunities and operational improvement areas within the department
- Serve as a technical and operational resource to field employees and leadership teams
Customer & Leadership Support
- Assist with resolving escalated customer concerns in a professional and timely manner
- Maintain strong communication with department managers and leadership regarding operational performance, staffing needs, and workflow concerns
- Support company growth initiatives through operational leadership and process improvement efforts
What We're Looking For
- 3-5 years of leadership experience in field operations, construction, weatherization, HVAC, energy efficiency, or a related field
- Strong leadership, coaching, and team development skills
- Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and operational workflows in a fast-paced environment
- Experience with operational software systems and workflow management tools
- Knowledge of building science, weatherization practices, or energy audits is a plus
- Valid driver's license required
