Ed Tech III - Behavior Specialist

Qualifications
90 credits of approved study or completion of approved alternate certification pathway.
- Ed Tech III certification from Maine DOE
- CHRC (Fingerprinting Approval)
- BHP Certification
- SafetyCare Certification
Certifications
- Maine DOE - Ed Tech III Certification
- Informs the Principal and BCBA of any problems or special information regarding individual students.
- Participates in training programs, as assigned.
- Meets with the BCBA and principal and receives instruction / direction on a regular basis.
- Remains in close communication with the BCBA and principal regarding all areas of behavior implementation (e.g., data collection, analysis, behavior systems and plans).
- Conducts one-on-one or small group behavioral instruction with indirect supervision from the BCBA.
- Consistently observes, records, follows and implements the positive behavior support and crisis intervention plan(s).
- Serves as the lead in restraint and/or seclusion events as appropriate.
- Engages in debriefing sessions on a regular and as needed basis.
- Carries out assigned duties relating to the supervision of students (e.g., recess, lunch, boarding buses, class trips, to and from classes and/or other related services programs) as defined by behavior programs/plans.
- Supervises students for recess, lunch, and boarding buses, class trips, and to and from classes and/or other related services programs as defined by behavior programs/plans..
- Maintains a high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality of information regarding students and their families.
- Maintains a high level of professionalism in following and supporting school district policies, school rules and team standards in all areas.
- Carries out other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the building Principal.
- Reports to the building Principal if unable to resolve a conflict with a colleague.
- Follows all necessary requirements regarding time clock procedures and adjustment slips.
- Substitutes for other support staff when requested by the building Principal.
- Follows expectations in the Pathway for All Learners (PALs) manual
- Is dependable, has positive work relationships, and a positive attitude towards students, colleagues, and the work tasks.
Education
- 90 credits of approved study or completion of approved alternate certification pathway.
Experience
- Experience Prefered, but will train the right candidate
Working Schedule
- Elementary Schedule
- School Year Only
- Travel between schools or district buildings may be required at times
Reports To: Assigned Special Education Staff, Special Education Administrator, and Building Principal
Terms of Employment: As determined annually by the District.
Evaluation: Completed annually by Building Administrator or their designee
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
