Foster Career and Technical Education Center (FCTEC)
Foster Career and Technical Education Center is seeking a dynamic, student-centered professional to serve as a Cooperative Education Teacher within our high school-based Career and Technical Education program. This position provides students with meaningful workplace learning experiences that connect classroom instruction to career exploration, employability skills, and post-secondary success. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with students, instructors, school counselors, business partners, and sending schools to coordinate and supervise cooperative education placements while supporting student growth and career readiness.
Qualifications
Applicants must be able to meet the Maine DOE certification requirements for Cooperative Education with a combination of Education and Experience as described in Chapter 115, Part II Section 3.

Certifications
- Maine Department of Education Certification or eligibility for certification as a Cooperative Education Teacher (CIP 99.1000)
- Maine Endorsement (860) Cooperative Education Coordinator
- Develop and maintain partnerships with local businesses and industry partners
- Coordinate, monitor, and evaluate student cooperative education placements
- Support students in developing employability and workplace readiness skills
- Conduct workplace visits and maintain communication with employers, students, parents, and school staff
- Assist students with career planning, resumes, interviewing skills, and workplace expectations
- Maintain accurate records and documentation related to student placements and program requirements
- Collaborate with CTE instructors and sending schools to support student success
- Ensure compliance with state, school, and labor regulations related to student work experiences
- Implement lessons that meet the requirements of the state of Maine Co-operative Education standards
Experience
- Experience working with high school students preferred
- Knowledge of career and technical education and workforce development practices preferred

Terms of Employment: As determined annually by the District.
