Mt. Abraham Union High School seeks a positive, student-centered coach to lead our Unified Basketball team - an inclusive program that joins students with and without disabilities as teammates. The ideal candidate will foster teamwork, respect, and sportsmanship while creating a fun, safe, and supportive environment that aligns with the educational mission of Mt. Abraham Athletics.
Responsibilities:
• Plan and lead practices and games in accordance with Vermont Principals’ Association (VPA) Unified Sports guidelines.
• Promote inclusion and ensure equitable participation for all athletes and partners.
• Collaborate with special educators, paraprofessionals, and athletic staff to support each student’s needs.
• Model and reinforce positive behavior, teamwork, and school spirit.
• Communicate effectively with students, families, and the athletic department.
Qualifications:
• Prior coaching or teaching experience preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
• Commitment to inclusive education-based athletics.
Salary is commensurate with experience and per the Mount Abraham Education Association Collective Bargaining Agreement for Co-Curricular Assignments, Group 5. The range is $1,885 - $3,232.
